Marc Bernard Ackerman, DMD is a third generation graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. He received his certificate from the prestigious University of Rochester-Eastman Dental Center Department of Orthodontics. Dr. Ackerman maintained a private practice in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania for 7 and a half years. In the fall of 2007, he left full-time private practice and assumed the role of Associate Professor and Director of the Fellowship in Orthodontic Clinical Research at the School of Orthodontics, Jacksonville University, Jacksonville, FL.
Scott D. Benjamin, D.D.S. is a graduate of SUNY Buffalo, School of Dental Medicine and has been in full-time private practice in rural upstate New York for over 30 years. Dr. Benjamin is an internationally recognized authority and lecturer on Oral Cancer and its early detection and diagnosis. He has also been a leader in computerized dental technology and dental lasers since their infancy. He has presented internationally at major dental meetings, universities, workshops, study clubs, and user meetings and has authored more than 200 articles.
Dr. Claude Boutin graduated as a Dentist from the University of Alberta in 1986, subsequently received his specialty training from the University of Toronto and has been in private practice as an Orthodontist in Calgary, Alberta, Canada since 1991. His was the first office in Canada to use Dolphin Digital Imaging and he has always worked to incorporate leading edge technology in his practice. He was approached in 2005 to help develop ICE Dental Systems into a comprehensive integrated imaging, patient education and practice management package delivered over the Internet for dentists and orthodontists. In addition to using the system in his daily practice, Dr. Boutin feels it is important to disclose that he has a financial interest in both ICE Dental Systems and its parent company, Essentialtalk.
Robert A. Cederberg, M.A., D.D.S.
Assoicate Dean for Clinical Technology, Innovation & Continuing Education Dr. Robert Cederberg graduated from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1979. Dr. Cederberg currently serves as the Associate Dean for Clinical Activities and Clinic Director at the Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health.
Jason Bryan Cope, DDS, PhD
Jason B. Cope received his dental training at Baylor College of Dentistry – DDS (‘95), orthodontic certificate (‘97), and PhD (’99) in distraction osteogenesis. Upon completion of his orthodontic certificate, he was invited to join the department as an adjunct clinical assistant professor.
Jack Dillenberg, D.D.S., M.P.H.
Dr. Jack Dillenberg is the inaugural dean of the Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health. Dr. Dillenberg received his master’s degree in public health from Harvard School of Public Health and completed his dental education at New York University, College of Dentistry. He received his undergraduate degree from Tulane University in New Orleans.
Catherine Flaitz, D.D.S., M.S. was appointed dean of The University of Texas Dental Branch at Houston in August 2004, following a 2-year role as interim dean and presently holds the William N. Finnegan, III, Professorship in the Dental Sciences. She is professor and former chair of the Department of Diagnostic Sciences and adjunct faculty of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. David French studied Dentistry at University of Alberta, where he graduated as the Gold Medallist in 1991. He worked in Calgary for a year practicing general dentistry. He then completed his specialty degree in Periodontics at the University of British Columbia. After graduation in 1994, Dr. French returned to Calgary to start a full-time private practice in periodontics and dental implants in the city’s northwest.
Dr. Jacobsen’s Ph.D. is in Comparative Pharmacology and Toxicology and he directed the Oral Medicine Clinic at the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry for over 25 years. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Medicine and past Chairperson of the Council on Dental Therapeutics of the ADA. Eight years in a row he has been named as one of the, Leaders in Continuing Education, by Dentistry Today magazine. He also received the 1999 Gordon J. Christensen Lecturer Recognition Award.
Dr. James Mah is an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Southern California and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. At USC he is the Director of Redmond Imaging Center and the Director of the Craniofacial Virtual Reality Laboratory. His research has been focused on creating virtual 3-dimensional craniofacial patients upon which diagnosis, treatment planning and simulations can be performed.
After receiving his DMD degree with distinction from the prestigious Washington University in St. Louis, Dr. McMurray completed a four year intensive hospital residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Southern California School of Medicine/ Los Angeles County Medical Center. His training focused primarily on reconstructive surgery ranging from complex facial deformities, trauma and diseases.
Dr. Scott Morrison is Assistant Professor and Director of Clinical Education at the Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health in Mesa, AZ. He received his DDS in 1979 and his MSD in Endodontics in 1986 from Indiana University School of Dentistry, joining the faculty as Acting Director of Undergraduate Endodontics in 1987. Dr. Morrison earned his board certification in 1988, after which he and his wife, Dr. Karen Panietz (also an endodontist), relocated to Arizona to begin their endodontic practice in Chandler, AZ.
Dr. Patrice Pellerin received his dental degree (1985) and his post graduate certificate in orthodontics (1991) from the University of Montreal. He received the Senior Student Award from the Academy of General Dentistry, and the Certificate of Merit from the American Society of Dentistry for Children. Since 1991 he maintains a solo private practice in Lachine, Quebec.
Dr. Rajendra Rana, a Board Certified Orthodontist, has practiced Orthodontics for adults & children for over 25 years. He is an associate professor at Montefiore Medical Center, Department of Orthodontics and an adjunct professor of Orthodontics at New York University, College of Dentistry. He maintains a full time private practice in both Kingston and Rhinebeck, New York.
Dr. Ron Redmond has lectured extensively, both nationally and abroad, including presentations to the American Association of Orthodontists, the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, the Middle Atlantic Society of Orthodontists, the Alberta Society of Orthodontists, the European Orthodontic Society, and the American Lingual Orthodontic Society. Dr. Redmond maintains several orthodontic practices with his two sons, William J. Redmond, DDS, MS, and M. John Redmond, DDS, MS.
For over thirty years Dr. Dan Rinchuse and his twin brother, Dr. Donald Rinchuse, have combined academic careers with private practice. Dr. Dan Rinchuse is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and editorial consultant for the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacical Orthopedics, The Angle Orthodontist, Orthodontic Practice US, and the World Journal of Orthodontics. Currently, he is Professor and Associate Director of Orthodontics at Seton Hill University Center for Orthodontics, Post Graduate Program in Orthodontics.
Dr. Joel L. Rosenlicht is a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University Dental School. He completed his oral and maxillofacial surgical training at the combined programs of Tufts University and Boston University School of Graduate Dental Medicine.
Eric L. Sauers, PhD, is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Interdisciplinary Health Sciences at the Arizona School of Health Sciences (ASHS), A. T. Still University (ATSU), in Mesa, Arizona. Dr. Sauers research interests include the use of information technology for the assessment of clinical outcomes and patient’s health-related quality of life (HRQOL).
Dr. Sharma is a Board Certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon. He is a Diplomat of the Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is a member of the Charlotte Dental Society and North Carolina Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is the Director of the Outer Loop Education Study Club, an affiliate of the Seattle Study Club, which actively provides national, regional, and local continuing education to the dental community of Charlotte.
Dr. Leonard B. Smith , D.D.S., M.Sc., F.R.C.D.(C), F.A.A.P., F.I.C.D., Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, is Clinical Assistant Professor, Dept of Pediatrics in the Faculty of Medicine, the University of Calgary. Dr. Smith is Chairman of the Non-Hospital Surgical Facilities Committee for the Alberta Dental Association and College, and Past President of both the Academy of Dentistry for the Handicapped and the Alberta Society of Pediatric Dentists. He is the recipient of the Integrity Award from the Rotary Club of Calgary.
Dr. Valenza is a full-time faculty member at The University of Texas Dental Branch at Houston. He is a 1981 graduate of the school and completed a general practice residency at The University of Tennessee Memorial Hospital in Tennessee. Dr. Valenza practiced full-time in Nashville while also serving as part-time faculty at Meharry Medical College – School of Dentistry. Since 2004 Dr. Valenza has served as the Executive Associate Dean of the Dental Branch.
Dr. Wendel is the associate provost at the Arizona campus of A. T. Still University of Health Sciences (ATSU). He received his undergraduate degree from St. Andrews College in Laurinburg, North Carolina in 1969. He has both a masters (1973) and doctorate (1974) in pharmacology from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina where he served on the medical school faculty for six years before accepting a position as an associate professor of pharmacology at the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Dr. Brian Whitestone hails from Toronto. Following graduation from the University of Toronto, he experienced two years of Post-graduate training at the Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto prior to his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. Dr. Whitestone came to Calgary in July 1988. He is a Member of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Dr. Gregory G. Zeller is a practicing general dentist and participates in national and international informatics activities, standards development, electronic health record implementations, and health care delivery system analysis. He graduated from University of Maryland with a DDS in 1975 and a MS in Oral Biology in 1983. Dr. Zeller currently serves as Director of Dental Care for the VA Maryland Health Care System and as Associate Professor and Director of the University of Maryland Dental School Campus at Perryville, MD.
